Elevated Eats: Cupids Potion Mocktail & Cheesy Flatbread Recipes

Hi Moon Foodies, February is for feeling all the love and of course delicious eats. This  month reminds us to say “I Love You” to all the important people in our lives. Tasting food and drinks while sitting around a table can be some of the most intimate times. A comfortable space, tasty food, good company - this is Love. I am sharing a pairing that makes the best date night for two - whether you savor these with a partner, best friend, sister, or enjoy a solo date night in this recipe combo is sure to satisfy. Think pizza and soda but fancy - homemade cherry limeade and a cheesy flatbread with a dressed salad topper.


The cherry limeade will have you weak at the knees. The concentrate may be made in advance allowing you to easily prep sodas to dose with your favorite Moon Mixers.


Cupid’s Potion (Homemade Cherry Limeade)

Cannabis Infused home made cherry limeade mocktail

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups fresh cherries, pitted

  • 5-6 limes juiced (1/2 cup juice)

  • 1/3 cup sugar (more to taste)

  • 1 1/2 cups water

  • Sparkling water

  • Moon Mixers

  • Limes slices and fresh cherries for garnish


Directions:

  1. To a blender add cherries, lime juice, sugar, and water.

  2. Blend on high until smooth.

  3. Strain blended liquid.

  4. Refrigerate the concentrate.

  5. To make a limeade - Add ice to a glass.

  6. Fill 1/3 with cherry lime concentrate then top with sparkling water and Moon Mixer of choice.

  7. Stir to combine.

  8. Garnish with lime and cherry.




Next up, a cheesy basil pesto flatbread drizzled with Moon Honey for balance, is then topped with an arugula salad dressed with a homemade dilly blue cheese dressing. This hits all the flavors: sweet, salty, and a touch of heat. Oh, and the salad topper makes this, you might want to make two. The crisp soda and the decadent flatbread are a duo dreams are made of.


Cheesy Flatbread for Two

Cannabis Infused cheesy bread with Moon Flower Honey Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 store-bought naan bread, pizza crust, flatbread

  • 2 tablespoons basil pesto

  • 1/2 cup freshly grated gruyere (or sharp cheddar, mozzarella)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (more for baking and finishing)

  • 1 teaspoon fresh oregano (or 1/2 teaspoon dried)

  • Red pepper flakes to taste

  • Moon Honey


Flatbread Directions:

  1. On your flatbread of choice, spread basil pesto and olive oil to cover.

  2. Spread cheese around and sprinkle with oregano and red pepper flakes.

  3. Drizzle with a little olive oil.

  4. Bake at 400 degrees (about 8-10, depending on the size) until the cheese is melty and gooey and the crust is crispy.

  5. Drizzle with Moon Honey out of the oven.


Salad Topper Directions

  1. Combine:

    • 1/4 cup Greek yogurt

    • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise

    • 1/4 cup whole milk

    • 2 tablespoons freshly chopped dill

    • 3 tablespoons finely crumbled blue cheese (or feta, goat)

    • 1 tablespoon white wine vinegar

    • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt

    • black pepper to taste.

  2. Top the flatbread with your favorite green (mine is arugula).

  3. Dress the greens with the desired amount of dressing.
